Parents: please do not drop your children off before 8:00AM. There are several children being left unattended outside before 8:00AM.
Due to the rain we were unable to move the visitor's bleachers for tonight's game. We will mark off a spot on the west end of the home bleachers for Geary's fans.
To the parents and the community:
Ryan Public School has been notified that there are individuals in our school that have possibly been exposed to COVID-19. We have been in contact with the health depart and have notified these individuals to quarantine at this time. We have not had anyone in our school that has tested positive. We are working with the Local Health Department to determine if there are any other precautions we need to take at this time. If you have not been contacted by the school or by the health department then you are not considered to be at risk.
The Jh football game scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th against Grandfield has been cancelled.
Great news!
I have good news for parents! The state has received a federal waiver that allows us to provide free breakfast and lunch for ALL of our students until funding is no longer available. The waiver is currently in place till December 31. This waiver started September 1. If anything changes we will let you know but for the foreseeable future all meals will be free. This includes meals for any distance kids.
Reminder to parents and students: tomorrow is an early release day. School will be out for students at 1:00pm. Buses will run at 1:00 also.
Cowboy round-up begins Monday! If you have not received an enrollment form please look for it in your child’s folder. The after school program includes Pre-k through 6th grade.
Tonight’s scrimmage vs Velma-Alma has been canceled. This cancelation is NOT due to COVID-10.
Parents please read.
High school parents: If you are bringing lunch to your child please take it to the lobby of the high school. There is a table to put the lunches on. Also please make sure your child’s name is on the lunch so there are not any issues for the students when they pick it up.

Parents, please send a water bottle with your child. We do not want kids drinking after each other at the water fountains. They will be able to refill their bottle at school if they run out.
Ryan Public schools has an opening for a part time and possibly full time custodian. Interested applicants need to pick up an application in the superintendent office.
With school starting on Thursday I would like to inform parents and community member of some changes that will take place at school to keep our school as safe as possible for our students.
1) No visitors will be allowed down the hallways or in the cafeteria unless approved by school personnel. To be in the school your temperature will be taken and you will be required to wear a mask. Again, this is for visitors only. We ask that you only come into the school for emergencies or essential visits. If you are coming to check your child out of school early please call the office when you arrive, wait in your car and we will send your child to you.
2) For elementary supply drop off on Tuesday, please drop your supplies off with your child's teacher at the east entrance to the Elementary school from 1-2. We encourage every parent to do this but we will allow Kindergarten, Pre-K, and 3 year olds to come in with one parent. This means only 2 people will be able to come in (parent and child).
3) Campus will be closed for lunch for all students. This means that students will not be able to leave the school for lunch. This is a decision we did not come by easily but we think it is in the best interest of our students to keep them on campus. We will allow parents to bring food to their child. If you want to bring food please bring it to the office and your child can pick it up there on the way to lunch.
I want to thank everyone for the support. This could prove to be a very trying year for us all in many ways.
Attention Parents:
Meet the teacher will look a little different this year. We would love for you to have a chance to bring your child's supplies up and see us before the 1st day. We ask that 1 parent come with their student to keep the traffic down in the hallway. The plan is doing this Tuesday August 11 from 1:00/3:00. If your last name begins with letter A-M please bring your student from 1:00-2:00 and if last name begins with letter N-Z you come from 2:00-3:00. If you have a student in 5th,3rd, K or PreK please use the door on the end by the circle drive. All other grades please use the front door.

We will have a meeting Tuesday, August 4th at 5:30 for 7th-9th football players and a meeting Thursday, August 6th at 5:30 for Hs football players. Both meetings will be at the football field house. Go Cowboys!
